Richard W. Norton, 78 of Crystal River, Florida died on Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was born in Batavia, New York to Jess Jay and Ethel Lillian (Tapp) Norton. Mr. Norton was a retired dairy farmer and moved to this area nine years ago from Murphy, North Carolina.
Richard served his country with the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist faith. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger.
Virginia Norton, his wife preceded him in death on December 23, 2009. He was also, preceded in death by his brother George Norton.
Survivors include his sons, Randy Norton and wife Tilma of Palm Bay, Florida and Rick Norton and wife Cheryl of Murphy, North Carolina; daughter, Brenda Parkes and husband Thomas of Rochester, New York; brothers, Donald Norton and Roger Norton, all of Bethany, New York; sisters, Doris Lewis of Batavia, New York and Evie Bigelow of West Seneca, New York; grandchildren, Kelli, Carliece, Jessica, Rachel, Joshua, Brittney, Jacob, Michael, Nicole and Steven and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be announced at a later date.
