

Born on June 25, 1938, in New York City to William and Rosario Alarcon, Rosalie grew up surrounded by family and community. She later raised her own family in Keansburg, New Jersey, before retiring to Florida with her husband, Wayne Haynes. Rosalie and Wayne shared 48 loving years together before his passing on April 7, 2025.
Rosalie dedicated her career to education as a school teacher, shaping young minds with patience and kindness. Outside the classroom, she cherished life’s adventures, expressed her creativity through painting, and found beauty even in the power of storms. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in people and lived her life with generosity of spirit and unconditional love.
Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Roxanne LaFoe; her son, Angelo (Tammy) Torres; her granddaughter, Jacqueline Torres; and her great-grandson, Julian Torres. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Conchita Alarcon and Janice (Ralph) Mitchell; her sisters-in-law, Diane (Lynn) Davenport and Linda (Dug) Schroeder; her brother-in-law, Bruce (Kathy) Haynes; along with many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and her parents.
Rosalie and Wayne will be laid to rest together in Sibley, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor their memory.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her passion for teaching, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering kindness.
