

Russel Dale Perkins, age 77, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his home in Beverly Hills, FL surrounded by his family. Russ was the oldest of five children, born on August 24, 1947, in Minneapolis, MN.
Russ is preceded in death by his parents George and Eileen Perkins and sister Rebecca Farrells. Survived by his loving family; Wife, Pamela Clark and daughters Kelly Drummer (Samuel) and Brita Perkins. Grandchildren; Isabella Koziolek (Cleevon), Sade and Solomon Drummer, Haleia and Aila Lum. Great Grandchildren; Cleevon Jr. and Cleveah Brown. Brothers Robert Perkins (Shirley) and Clifton Perkins (Gigi) and sister Janet Olson (Jon) and many nieces and nephews.
Russ graduated from Wayzata, MN High school in 1965 and enlisted in the US Navy shortly thereafter. After 4 years active duty he was honorably discharged as an E4/Petty Officer. Following his service, he attended St. Cloud MN State University and earned a BS degree in both Psychology and Sociology. He began a career in Credit and Collections and was the business owner of W.F. Streeter Collections until his retirement.
He was fortunate to retire at the early age of 49, relocating to Crystal River, FL shortly thereafter. This enabled him to escape the MN winters and put his energies and enthusiasm into his real skill of enjoying life. He was an avid fisherman, motorcyclist, snowmobiler, snow skier, golfer and lover of the outdoors. He was a proud member of the American Legion and VFW in Beverly Hills, Florida and Amvets in Hayward, Wisconsin. He was a very proud Father, husband and USN veteran. He enjoyed traveling across the country to see the beauty of nature and the awe of the world.
He was loved by his friends and family, and always wanted everyone to have fun, joke and laugh. His laughter and smile lit up the room. He will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Life is scheduled for Monday, June 23, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, 1555 40th Avenue NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 9:30 am, prior to the Service. The Service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow the service at 12:45 pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
