

Thomas A. Palmer, 82, of Beverly Hills FL died on February, 17, 2011. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 9, 1928 to Thomas and Anna (Doherty) Palmer. Formerly of East Hampton, NY, he and his wife Anna moved to Beverly Hills, FL in November of 1994.
Mr. Palmer served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He graduated from St. John's University in Queens, NY with a Juris Doctorate Degree and was admitted to the New York State Bar and the Supreme Court of the United States. He was a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association and had a private law practice in Amagansett, NY. Mr. Palmer was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, a third degree Knight with the Abbot Francis Sadlier Council #6168 and served as the Respect Life Chairperson. He enjoyed golfing and was proud of his hole-in-one at Twisted Oaks Golf Course. He had fond memories of ushering at Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers was an avid New York Jets fan and enjoyed traveling, especially to the Cayman Islands.
In addition to his loving wife, Anna, Mr. Palmer is survived by his sons, Tom Palmer and wife Jeanette of Houston, TX, Dan Palmer and his wife Doreen of East Hampton, NY, Eddie Palmer and his wife Judy of North Tonawanda, NY, Jim Palmer of East Hampton, NY and Frank Palmer and his wife Allison of Chantilly, VA; daughters Patty Sylvester and her husband Peter of Sherman, CT and Maureen Palmer of Torrington, CT; brother John Palmer and wife Roberta of Beverly Hills, FL, and sister Joan Dunn of Hernando, FL, brother-in-law, Roland Gorton and wife Agnes of Brooklyn, NY, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, Florida 34465 on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a Knights of Columbus service at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral mass to be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to take place at a later date at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
