Thomas A. Shell, fondly known as Tom, of Lecanto, Florida, formerly a long time resident of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2021. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 12, 1954, to the late Jesse C. and Donna (Allen) Shell.
Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father and proud grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, watching classic movies and TV shows, listening to talk radio, oldies rock and some country music, swimming in the pool and relaxing on the lanai. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his beloved kitties, Shabaka and Savanna. He was a lifetime Oakland Raiders fan, loved playing cards especially poker and had a favorite board game “Gotcha”.
Tom was a proud UAW union member. He retired from Navistar in Springfield, Ohio as a factory employee and served as a union steward in Department 52. Upon retirement he moved to Citrus County, Florida and considered his residence his “little piece of paradise”.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda A. (Beard) Shell, son: Scott A. Shell of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter: Tiffany (Sanhti) Vongphakdy of Fort Wayne, IN; granddaughters: Heaven and Alysa Vongphakdy; beloved kitty Savanna; special friends Doug and Pam Lee of Springfield, OH and many loving in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
