William Charles Ritter, 83, of Crystal River, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love and service. A native of Wilmington, NC, he was born November 3, 1942 to Aubrey and Lucy Ritter. Charles, as he was known to many, served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963 as an Airborne soldier stationed in Germany. Charles and his beloved wife Kimberley moved to Citrus County from Columbus, OH in 2020, settling in their beautiful waterfront home in a community they both loved. Mr. Ritter was a skilled welder, home builder and real estate businessman who loved gardening and fishing. Charles loved traveling and also explored his love for the freedom of flying as a private pilot during his life. As Charles’ health declined, Kimberley cared for him with love and compassion. Blessings to God be the glory for allowing them to spend over a decade together. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his two sisters Peggy and Evelyn, as well as Rosemarie. In addition to his wife Kimberley, he is survived by his children: Wendy Bayer (Brian), Raymond Dury, Destiny Reynolds (David), Diamond Gales and Deja Gales; cherished granddaughter Allison Alperstien, who held a very special place in his heart; grandson Matthew Dury (Shea) and granddaughter Elizabeth Marquardt (Justin); his two brothers Tex Ritter (Lanette), and Glenn Ritter; niece and nephew, Diane and Tommy; as well as many other grandchildren, relatives and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and love. Friends will be received on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, Beverly Hills, FL, where a Celebration of Life will begin promptly at 1:00 P.M. commencing with Military Honors being rendered by the Florida Army National Guard and the American Legion Post #155 rendering the honors. In lieu of flowers, and in remembrance of Charles’ love of gardening, live plants would be much appreciated. He will be remembered for his generous heart and quiet strength. Services entrusted to Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, Beverly Hills, Florida.
