Alvery Jovesta Pitts affectionately known as “AL,” was the eldest son born to his late, beloved mother, Mrs. Bessie Hannon and his dad, Mr. Frank Pitts. In addition, AL was blessed as a toddler, to have an awesome dedicated stepfather by the name of Mr. Sim Hannon, to come into his life and rear him as though he was his very own. Along with this wonderful addition, Al gained two sisters, Daphne and Sasha Hannon. Some yours later, Bessie and Hannon shared with Al and. his sisters that would soon have another addition to their family and nine months later Al welcomed his little brother, Corinthian Gabriel “Gabe” Hannon into the world. Bessie and her boys… Oh how she loved her some Al and Gabriel. Al was a feisty young fella as a child, with a big personality just like his mother and never met a stranger again, just like his mother. As time passed, Al became no stranger to the music scene, especially being that his mother was a singer. Growing up as a child, Al tagged along everywhere she went therefore causing him to take on a love for music, particularly the drums. Al grew to be a skilled drummer and began to use his talent to bless many churches and ministries, both locally and abroad. For many years he was faithful and committed as the drummer at Faith Deliverance Overcoming Cathedral of Prayer under the late, Bishop E. B. Williams. Has most current gift of service was to his Pastor, Reverend Guyrinthian Harris and the Tabernacle of Praise Christian Church, where he was always dressed to the nines.
Al made his peace with our Heavenly Father and reunited with his beautiful mother on Sunday, June 21, 2026. He will forever be remembered by his Hannon, Jackson, Square, and Pitts family, his many nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles, along with his sibling brother. Mr. Pitts, his many musician friends. The Jive Mob and all that loved and knew Al.
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
