HUGHES, Edward “Ed”, age 83 of Birmingham, he went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley Hughes; and his parents, Lloyd and Annie Hughes. He is survived by his sons, Eddie Hughes (Vivian), Danny Hughes (Kathy) and Mark Hughes (Debbie); 4 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Center Point where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was involved with several gospel quartets. Ed retired from Bruno’s as a butcher and NAPA as a delivery driver. His family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 10-11 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. There will be a graveside service at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Morris beginning at 12.
