Ann C. Geisinger, 73, of New Fairfield, Connecticut passed away on June 18, 2018 after a prolonged battle with Atypical Parkinsonism. She was born to the late Salvatore and Marie Lomma Calisto in Scranton, Pennsylvania on July 28, 1944. Ann was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, and educator. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Norm Geisinger; her daughter Dr. Mia Geisinger (Dr. Greg Umphrey); her sister Karen Lehman (Dennis); her granddaughter Alexandra Umphrey; and many other relatives and close friends.
Ann was an educator for over 30 years. She taught middle school science at both Danbury and New Fairfield Middle Schools and was passionate about education and loved her students! Ann also owned and operated a catering business when her daughter Mia was a child. Ann truly had a zest for life and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed traveling, experiencing new cultures and cuisines, and meeting new people. She cherished her family and friends and was quick to laugh, to hug, to reach out to others in times of need. She left a lasting imprint on those she leaves behind and her legacy lives on in her family, her friends, and the young people that she helped shape through education. She will be deeply missed.
A memorial Mass will take place at a later date at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in New Fairfield, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at https://www.michaeljfox.org/get-involved/donation2.php in memory of Ann.
