I will always hold Mrs. Savage close and dear to my heart. As a UAB student far away from home, I didn't know a soul in Birmingham. She and Chris invited me over to the house for spaghetti and meatballs at the end of the 1st week of classes in the summer of 1995, and gave me my first real experience of Southern Hospitality. She took me in like a son and became my "Southern Mom," and I'll always cherish our light hearted chit chat and the laughs we had together. She couldn't have been a sweeter person, and I'll never forget what she did for me. God Rest Your Soul, Mrs. Savage...….till we meet again! Love Always, Mike

I have such fond memories of Mrs. Savage. She made the best spaghetti and provided me many nourishing meals during my years at UAB. She was like a second mother as she always provided comforting words when Chris and I would study for exams. I will cherish those memories forever. Rest In Peace Mrs. Savage. You were an angel on earth, and now you’re an angel in heaven.
