Anne Gore

GORE, Phyllis Anne, age 91 of Birmingham, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William Rodney Gore and son, Donald Gore. She is survived by her sons, Bill Gore (Lisa) and Phillip Gore (Diane); grandchildren, Nikole Gore, James Gore (Rachel) and Rachel Gore; and great-grandchildren, Will Layton and Jace Harten. Anne got her Bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville State University, MBA from UAB, and also was a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). She had natural accounting ability and worked her entire career in the accounting field. Anne worked at both Siemens Corporation and as CFO for Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). She always said working at WMU was the most rewarding job she ever had. She also taught Accounting classes at UAB. She was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church of Trussville, where she served as Treasurer of her Sunday School class. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 11:00. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Gadsden beginning at 2:00 pm.
