Anne “Dolly” McNeal (Dole) died Friday January 15th, 2016 at the age of 87. Born to the parents of Lilly and Louis Dole, Anne was known by friends and family as Dolly in her early years. She lived her entire life on the eastern side of Birmingham, beginning in Woodlawn and then onto East Lake, Huffman and eventually Clay. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Pete McNeal and numerous siblings, in-laws and close friends. She was the first of 7 children and is survived by her son and his wife, Sid and Mellony McNeal and her two beloved grandchildren Lowery and Davis McNeal. Also surviving is her sister Theresa West, and her brothers WA Dole and Jimmy Dole. Anne proudly enjoyed a 35+ year career at EBSCO Industries spanning over a 60 year period of time. She also was a field representative of the Avon Corporation beginning in 1968, having submitted her last product order to them only last week. She was a remarkable person of incredible substance and capable of unwavering love and commitment to others, both personally and professionally, many times at the expense of her own comfort. In that respect, she was an embodiment of Christ her Savior and her active Christian faith, which she practiced in only four different United Methodist Churches over the course of her life. She is missed already, but more importantly will live on in the lives of her family and friends as an example of one that didn’t turn from the task at hand, but lived into it, trusting God to give her the strength… and He did. Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Clearbranch United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts should be given to the Clearbranch United Methodist Church Kingdom Fund for those in need.
