Annie Sue Fitzpatrick

Annie Sue Fitzpatrick, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on February 26, 1926, in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of Mae McCarter and James Huff.

Annie Sue was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, Marshall H. Fitzpatrick, and her son, Marshall H. Fitzpatrick, Jr. A proud graduate of Ensley High School, where she was a majorette, Annie Sue furthered her education at the University of Alabama, earning her degree and becoming a dedicated social studies professor.

A former member of Cahaba Heights Methodist Church, she made a lasting impact by establishing and maintaining the church library. In 2013, Annie Sue moved to Fairhope, Alabama, where she continued to serve her faith community as a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church.

She is remembered for her unwavering love, strong character, and deep faith. Annie Sue is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Keith and Terrie Fitzpatrick; her grandson, Regan Branch; and her great-grandson, Theodore Branch.

A viewing and memorial service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 1 PM, with a graveside service to follow at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital in her memory.

Annie Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
