

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lynn Thompson, her youngest son Mike Thompson, parents William Taft and Mary Johnson, and sisters, Joyce Young and Virginia Johnson.
Mrs. Thompson is lovingly remembered by her sons Charles and Mark, stepdaughter Traci (Randy) Climenhage, grandchildren Andrew and Jaeger Thompson, Brandon (Amy) Climehage and Jennifer (Mark) Hood, David (Allison)and Pax Ingels-Thompson as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thompson was also the proud great-grandmother to four grandsons: Henry, Jameson, and twins Mason and Miles, whose recent birth genuinely delighted her.
In addition to being devoted to her family, Mrs. Thompson also achieved fulfilling professional goals, including serving as the Lunchroom Manager at Lee Elementary School (Birmingham) and running her own catering business. Rather than fully retiring, she also worked well into her 70s at Publix (Vestavia), where she became a well-loved and recognizable figure known for her friendly disposition and genuine care for her customers and fellow workers.
Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held in Birmingham, AL at Johns-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Monday, February 3, 2025, with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m and graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery at 11:00 am.
