It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend to all, Tony Lombardo.
Tony graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Masters of Arts degree in education. He taught at UAB, John Carroll Catholic High School and retired from teaching at Vestavia Hills High School. Aside from teaching was his love of music.. He taught music for over 45 years at Highland Music and mentored his students for years. He was a highly respected guitarist, banjo player and teacher. His band played venues across Alabama and the south such as City Stages, the Museum of Art, and countless weddings. Beyond his great talent he was the most loving, kind soul to his large family and friends. He is survived by his mother Margie Lombardo, sister Sherry Rowe (Kelly), nephews Michael Rowe Jason (Susie) Rowe, and numerous cousins and a legion of friends. His funeral will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, Homewood, Alabama on Tuesday June 9. Visitation will be at 10:00am followed by mass at 11:00 with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
