Arcue was born in Bessemer, AL. to Jesse and Mary Sims on June 24, 1929. After school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He received a Purple Heart after being wounded while serving his country during the Korean War.
He is survived by two brothers, Erskine Sims and John Doriety; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sims will be privately interred at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
