WADE, ARTHUR LAMAR born December 4th, 1929 went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Tate Wade, his brother, Alton E. Wade and his parents Alton L. and Ruby W. Wade. Survivors include his daughter Nancy W. Ling (John), son Terry L. Wade, brother Raymond E. Wade (Velma) and sister Lucille W. Sandlin (Hollie). Grandchildren: Matt, Katie and Andrew Ling as well as many other extended family members and friends. A former resident of Sylvan Springs, he had resided in Legacy Nursing Home in Pleasant Grove, Al for the last few years. Mr. Wade was retired from U.S. Steel, Forester Instruments and the U.S. Naval Reserves. Chief Wade retired from the USNR after 36 years of service to his country. The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Nursing Home for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to MedMission International, P.O. Box 660484, Birmingham, Al. 35266 or your favorite charity. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 23 at Elmwood Chapel at 2:30 pm with visitation on Sunday from 5-7 pm. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
