B. R. ("Bob") Wright

B.R. (Bob) Wright, of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away on August 19, 2022. Bob was born on February 14, 1927 in Cordova, AL to Robert L. Wright and Willie Mae Wright. He graduated from Phillips High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Birmingham – Southern College in Business Administration and Psychology, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Kappa Alpha. Bob served in the U.S. Navy. Before retirement, he was the Purchasing Agent for Jefferson County. Bob was a member of Hoover First Methodist Church. He enjoyed nature, photography, painting, woodcarving, playing the piano, listening to music, keeping up with current events, spending time with family, and playing with his dog, Nick. Bob was predeceased by his parents and a daughter, Barbara W. Evans. He is survived by his wife, Connie, his sister June W. Kitchen (Frank) of Birmingham, his son Bill Wright (Debbie), his daughter Beverly W. Christopher, his grandson Brian Wright (Emily), his grandchildren Parker Wright, Cooper Wright, and Miller Wright, all of Franklin, TN, his niece Jann Gore (Bruce) of Lake Martin, AL, and his stepson Russ Tackett (Rita) of Cleveland, TN. There will be a private family service for Bob this week in Birmingham.
