Barbara “Babs” Black Oliver passed away on June 22, 2015 at the age of 58. She will be greatly missed by her husband of thirty years, Patrick “Kip” Kirkland Oliver. She is preceded in death by her father William Horace Black. She is survived by her mother Barbara Compton Black, her brothers Alan Compton Black and William Horace Black III. She is also survived by a nephew Alan Compton Black Jr and cousins Tom Black, Don Black and Judy Burton. Babs was a lifelong resident of Birmingham and developed many friendships through the course of her life. Her humor, smile, personal love of life and sincere concern for others has endeared her to her many friends. She was truly loved. Friends and family are invited to attend services at Elmwood Chapel. Visitation is at 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a service.
