Barbara Ann Lee McCarty left this world to enter the Kingdom of our Lord. She was 83 years old and sus=ccumbed to the dreaded disease of Alzheimer's. She was a senior officer at Southtrust Bank( Now Wells Fargo) for 43 years. She was on the local board of the Cancer Society, The American Heart Association along with many other civic organizations. Barbara was one of the first women that broke the "glass ceiling" in banking in the Birmingham area. She was a brilliant, compassionate, charitable, loving and and outstanding beautiful lady. She will be sorely missed by those who knew her, and her departure is extremely painful for those that love her. She is survived by her loving Life Partner, George Anselmo Senior, a sister Katheryn Pate of Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery & Mausoleum, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Birmingham, Alabama 35211, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
