Barry Jay Washburn passed away on December 11, 2020. Barry was born on March 14, 1952 with severe physical disabilities (cerebral palsy). He lived 68 years with those disabilities and many other health complications during his life, but he had a smile and a laugh that was infectious and he inspired and affected so many people. Barry will be remembered as a loving person who loved to laugh and loved to give and receive hugs, an avid Alabama fan and a person who found joy in the life he was able to experience. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Fred Mathis Washburn and Roberta Alexander Washburn. He will be missed by his surviving sisters, Caryn Washburn Wingate and Sharyn Washburn Hillin, and his niece and nephews, Matthew Wesley Woods (Subana), Shelby Hillin Spivey (Mason) and John David Washburn Hillin. The family will have a private graveside service on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery.
