Betty Jean Berry, age 86, passed away on December 28th, 2019 after a hard-fought struggle with cancer. Betty was born on April 5th, 1933 and was a long-time resident of Pelham, Alabama. After raising five children, she had a successful and lengthy career at Compass Bank in Birmingham and worked there until her retirement. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Steve) Nail, Mary Jo (Steve) Schreiner, Bernadette (John) Edens, Raphael (Art) Leach, and Vincent (Susan) Pilato; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Williams, Christy (Rodney) McAuley, Kimberly Nail, Amy Schreiner, Erika (Anthony) Freeman, Phillip (Alison) Edens, Charlotte (Randy) Gay, Jessica Leach, Arthur Leach, Sam Pilato; and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 7, 2019 from 10 -11AM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass following at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. The family will have a private interment at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
