Betty Jane Boozer Brand

BRAND, BETTY JANE BOOZER, age 85 of Tarrant, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and John Boozer; brother, Joseph Boozer; sisters, Geneva Boozer Bond and Willadean Boozer Herstine; and grandson, James Andrew “Drew” Brand. She is survived by her husband of over 66 years, J. B. Brand, Jr.; son, James Michael “Mike” Brand (Pam); brother, Jack Boozer (Mary); sister, Ophelia Boozer Pitts; granddaughter, Rebecca Brand Redmond (Nathan); and a host of nieces and nephews. Betty was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church in Tarrant and also served on the Tarrant Housing Authority and enjoyed the Friday Night Supper Club. As a cornerstone of the community, she loved people and was a selfless servant to many. She helped with the Cub Scouts, PTA and many other civic organizations. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed. Her family will receive friends on Monday, September 21, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 11:00. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
