The Blows raised their four children in the Cahaba Heights Community where Betty attended area schools and excelled in her studies. Upon graduation, she attended secretarial school. While working at Jefferson Life Insurance Company, Betty met the love of her life, Howard E. Campbell. The two were married for many happy years until his death in 1986. Their son, James Garber Campbell, was born in 1956 and family became the center of Betty’s world. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and later grandmother. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. She was known for her kind heart and generous spirit and for always putting the needs of others before her own. Betty was an avid gardener known for her beautiful roses and hydrangeas. She loved nature, especially bird watching on her lazy patio. She was a fabulous cook and her oyster dressing at holidays was looked forward to year round. Betty loved football and often attended games with her husband and family. Her sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to many. Betty leaves behind many who loved her and cherished her company; her son, James Garber Campbell, daughter-in-law Anna; grandsons, Hunter and Colin; sister Libby, stepchildren Sally and John; nephews, Kirby Blow, Robbie Rives, and Teddy Reisner; dear longtime friend Kathy Reisner, special friends at Los Barcos where she loved to meet for lunch, and many longtime neighbors and friends. The family would like to thank the staff at UAB Medical West Emergency Room and ICU, especially Daniel, who is such an amazing, caring nurse and a tremendous comfort to the family during this time. The family would also like to thank neighbors, coworkers, and friends too numerous to name, who have reached out in comfort, love, and support of our family.
