

OLIVER, BETTY JEAN GABLE “GRANNY”, age 79, of Trussville, formerly of Tarrant, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 21, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Troy Oliver, Jr.; parents, Benson Gable and Millie Allison Gable; brothers, Bill and Jack Gable; and sister, Agnes Gable Watson. She is survived by her son, Harold Oliver (Kathryn) of Trussville; daughters, Gayle Mason (Bob) of Hoover, Carol Ann Mizzell (Chris) of Cullman and Liz McGill (Mark) of Locust Fork; 8 grandchildren, Tommy Oliver, Brooke Oliver Grantham, Stefanie Mason Davis, Ashley Mason Greer, Jesse Mizzell, Mille Mizzell, Matthew McGill and Jonathan McGill; 19 great grandchildren, Brant, Josh, Keats, Cooper, Tate, Mason, Palmer, Olivia, Liam, Jackson, Charliegh, Allie, Kaila, Josie, Troy, Ethan, Anna, Naomi, and Miriam; 2 great-great grandchildren, Millie and Sophia; brothers, Benny, Jimmy and Wayne Gable; and many dear relatives and friends. Betty was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked for and retired from the Birmingham Board of Education. She also was a devout Christian Lady serving her Heavenly Father at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Tarrant for over 47 years. She served as Church Hostess, Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher and BBA Executive Board Member. She loved her Alabama Crimson Tide football. She will be missed dearly by all family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Allen Yielding and Staff, Brookwood Hospital 7th floor nursing staff, and Comfort Care Hospice for all your kind and gentle loving care for our mother. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 11-1 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 1 PM with Bro. Roy Spears and Bro. Mark Lawley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Till we meet again!
