Betty Jean Underwood, 90, of Birmingham, AL, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Betty was born to Truman and Una Jenkins on November 25, 1934 in Jacksonville, AL, and graduated from Jacksonville High School.
In 1953, she met and married Earl Underwood of Anniston. The couple went on to have three children: Earl Jr., William (Bill), and Terry.
Betty was a beloved nurse for many years in the Anniston area, and the couple eventually relocated to Birmingham where they have resided for over 30 years.
Betty was predeceased by her parents and her sister Juanita Griffith. She is survived by her children, Earl Jr., Bill (Cindy), and Terry Evans (Charles); her grandchildren, Earl III, Anna, Aaron, Sarah, Chase, Chloe, Miranda, and Charles; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be holding a memorial service on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Johns-Ridout’s-Elmwood Chapel.
