Bettye Jo Moore, age 85, passed away surrounded by her family. She is preceded by her father, Joseph Winters Murphy, her mother, Margaret Park Murphy, her sister, Jeanette McMahan, and her niece, Tracy Guthrie. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John C. Moore (Jake); nieces, Sandra Messersmith (Wayne), Linda Gould, and Terri McMahan (Roger); great niece, Brandy Gipson (Matt), great nephews, Archie Messersmith-Bunting (Bill), Micah Messersmith (Haley); great-great nieces, Maggie Gipson, Lottie Messersmith, Josie Messersmith and great-great nephew, Kade Messersmith-Bunting. Bettye Jo was a lifelong member of the Eastern Star. She retired from Bell South after 40 years. She was member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her funeral will be held at Elmwood Chapel on Friday, November 30, 2018. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00, with a service to follow from 11:00 until 12:00.
