Billye Sue Self, 88, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. Born on July 8, 1937, in Birmingham, Alabama, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and faith.
Billye dedicated much of her career to bookkeeping for her family's business as well as other ventures. Her meticulous nature and commitment to her work were evident throughout her professional life. Beyond her career, Billye was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a wonderful sense of humor and cherished the time she spent with her loved ones.
A devoted member of Wilson's Chapel United Methodist Church in Roebuck, Alabama, Billye found great joy and solace in her faith community. Her connection to the church reflected her deep spirituality and commitment to serving others.
Billye is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles (Jerry) Self Sr.; her daughter Rosemary Self; and her son Charles (Chuck) Self Jr. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Kay Gilbert. Billye’s family was the center of her world, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
