Blanche McKleroy Lee

Blanche was born on October 16, 1931, in Blount County, Alabama. She was married to the love of her life, Paul D. Lee, who preceded her in death in 1990. She retired from Sears Warehouse in the 1980s, and spent her retirement years quilting, tending to her home and garden, laughing with her friends, and loving her family.

She is survived by her three children, Dianne Stoney, Buddy (Arthur) Self, and Janice Swenson; her grandchildren, Ryan Stoney, Kendal Stoney, Patrick Self, Leah McClelion, Bram Swenson, and Britt Swenson; along with 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Blanche was a passionate quilter, and the quilts she made stand as a lasting piece of her love, stitched by hand and passed down through her family. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love of Alabama football, and the quiet joy she found in her home, her garden, and the friends who filled her days.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 25th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with her funeral service on Saturday, September 26th, at 2:00 p.m., both at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, Alabama 35235.
