He is survived by his son Dennis Underwood (Cindy); daughters Christie Gwin and Linda Baker; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Underwood retired from the Birmingham Fire Department after more than twenty five years of service. He was an Alabama football fan.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 10:00 until 11:00 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel.
Interment will be at Village Falls Cemetery in Mulga, Alabama.
