Brenda G. Brasfield, age 76, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at her home in Shelby County, Alabama. Brenda was born in Jasper, Alabama on December 6, 1948. Her parents were Orville and Doris Evans Gay.
Brenda was a 1966 graduate of Minor High School, and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees at the University of Montevallo. She was a retired teacher and taught school at Maddox Middle School in Jasper and at Pleasant Grove Middle School in Jefferson County.
Brenda was a life-long member of Westmont Baptist Church in Minor. Before losing her vision she dearly loved to study her Sunday School lesson and read her Bible.
She is survived by her loving husband, Rick of 57 years; three children Jason (Meri Catherine), Amy, and Kevin (Ericka); six grandchildren, Olivia (Matthew), Ryan (Peyton), Claire, Colin, Ava, and Evans; one great-grandchild, Hayden; brother, Melvin (Carol); and sister, Diana (Frank, deceased).
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Doris Evans Gay.
A memorial service for Brenda will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Westmont Baptist Church, 2963 Mulga Loop Rd, Birmingham, AL 35224.
