

Born on November 11, 1940, in Amory, Mississippi, she was the cherished daughter of Clarence and Louise Rye Jackson.
Brenda graduated from West End High School in 1958 and went on to build a remarkable career at Harbert Corporation, where she worked for over three decades. She retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and camaraderie with her beloved work family. Brenda’s meticulous nature and kind heart were evident in all that she did.
A devoted wife to her loving husband of 65 years, George Harris, Brenda treasured her family above all else. She is survived by her daughters Beth Heaton (Bill) and Pam Gay (Phillip), who were the light of her life. Her grandchildren—Zachary Butler (Emily), Erin Morrow (Derek), Abbi Gargus (Grant), Tommy Gay (Amy), Michael Gay (Whitney), and Wesley Gay (Charles)—and great-grandchildren Will Morrow, Linley Morrow, Zoey Butler, August Butler, Graham Gargus, Sloane Gargus, Ashton Gay, Olivia Gay, Sydney Gay, and Sammy Gay brought her immense joy and pride.
Brenda is also survived by her brothers Jeff Jackson and Ron Jackson (Wanda), as well as her sister-in-love Jean Jackson (Bill). She was predeceased by her parents; her husband George; her brothers Tom Jackson and Bill Jackson; and her sister-in-love Diane Jackson (Jeff).
Faith played a central role in Brenda’s life. A dedicated prayer warrior with an unwavering belief in the power of prayer, she attended the Baptist Church at McAdory in McCalla during the later years of her life. Her faith was a source of strength not only for herself but also for those who knew her.
Brenda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. An avid reader with a love for word and jigsaw puzzles, she delighted in watching birds from her backyard and collecting angels. She cherished time spent with friends through her neighborhood birthday club and other social gatherings.
Those who knew Brenda will remember her as caring, loving, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to those around her. Her attention to detail was unmatched, and she had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued. Above all else, Brenda’s family was everything to her—a sentiment reflected in every aspect of her life.
May Brenda’s memory serve as a source of comfort to all who loved her. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire generations to come.
