

Brenda McShell Tubbs, 66, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. Born on July 11, 1960, in Marion, Alabama, Brenda was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence and Mattie Tubbs.
Brenda attended Francis Marion High School, graduating with the Class of 1979. She later pursued further education at Indiana Technical College in Gary, Indiana. Her passion for cooking led her to a career as a professional cook, where she dedicated over a decade to sharing her culinary talents.
Brenda’s life was enriched by her love for her family and her faith. She cherished her children and grandchildren deeply and found joy in spending time with them. Her patience and warm smile left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Brenda had a zest for life that was evident in her hobbies—she loved to cook and eat delicious meals, enjoyed music, was an avid reader, and delighted in solving puzzles.
She is survived by her loving family: her brother Glenn Tubbs (Dorothy) of Selma, Alabama; sisters Diane Hester (Leon) of Gary, Indiana, and Sandra Greene (Samuel) of Marion, Alabama; her two children Ranisha Gardner (Rashad) and Terence Tubbs (Taleisha), both of Birmingham; and her cherished grandchildren Reginal King Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Jalani Womack of McDonough, Georgia; Katelyn Harris of Birmingham; Terence Tubbs Jr., Trueth Tubbs, and Trust Tubbs, and her granddog Jhett, all of Birmingham. Brenda also leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Mattie Tubbs; and her brothers; Kirk Tubbs and Ronnie Tubbs.
Brenda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and held fond memories of worshiping at her childhood church, Providence Baptist Church in Marion, AL. She later transferred her membership to United Community Church of Christ in Marion, AL.
Brenda’s memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her. May those who knew her find comfort in remembering the warmth she brought into their lives.
