Evangelist Brenda Pearl Woods

Evangelist Brenda Pearl Woods was born on October 3, 1951, to the late Mr. Otha Lee Woods and Mrs. Julia Mae Woods in Trussville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.

She graduated from Moton High School. She later continued her education at Jefferson State Community College where she received two associate degrees.

Evangelist Woods was brought up in the church as a child at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Trussville, Alabama. She was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost on January 23, 1994, at The Greater Emmanuel Holiness Church, Inc., under the leadership of Bishop Jose’ Perry, Sr.

She received a higher calling into heavenly places on May 25, 2025, at St. Martin’s In the Pines Facility.

She leaves to continue her legacy and cherish her memories: Three children. Daughter, M.I.T. Torrie L. Simmons, Dallas, TX, daughter, Roselyn L. (Darriel D.) Billups, Center Point, AL, and a son, Samuel O. Honeycutt, Birmingham, AL, Three brothers: Mr. Otha Lee Woods, Jr., Birmingham, AL, Mr. Ronald D. Woods, Birmingham, AL, and Mr. Robert Turner, San Jose, CA., and One sister: Cathy L. Jackson, Birmingham, AL; Eighteen grandchildren and Eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation for Brenda will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel.
