Brian Thomas Keene

With deepest of sorrows we announce the passing of Brian Thomas Keene on June 29th, 2026. Brian was born on March 26th, 1963 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Brian continued his education at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where he received his Bachelors of Science which he applied as a systems analyst for over 30 years in the telecommunication and healthcare industry.

Brian leaves behind a legacy of letting passion shine through everything he did. Expressing his loyalty and kindness by being a prominent member of his church, he taught religious education and worked the Labor Day festival annually for nearly 20 years. He showed his dedication and loyalty by devoting time and friendship to The Magic City Gun Club as a member and secretary.

Brian is proceeded in death by his father Thomas Keene (DeAnna), sister Corrine Brown and is survived by his mother Karen Joy Blankenship (Bill), fiancé Mary Schaffer and daughters; Marki Keene-Hudson (Allen) and Samantha Gilliland (Patrick) as well as five grandchildren, two nephews and numerous extended family members. He will be deeply missed as a loving son, fiancé, father, PopPop and friend.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 980 Huffman Road, Birmingham Alabama 35215 on Tuesday July, 14th 2026 at 10:00 am.
