This made my heart drop when I heard the news of Britni..we met about 7 years ago she was a sweet and genuine person had a big heart,u had two beautiful and i know u loved them very much this breaks my heart to know u died so young ...rest in peace sweet angel u will forever live on love you

I was the principal at Parkway for many years and know of the strong friendships that were formed there.  My wife and I are saddened by the death of Britni, much too early.  Our prayers are for her friends and family as you struggle to find peace and try to make sense of this.

Dear family of Britni Lawler,
The news of Britni's passing brings such sadness to me...to read she was 23 yrs. old & leaving behind 2 daughters makes anyone's heart break for all of you.
I will never forget our 1st meeting. It was at Taylor Memorial UMC so many years ago during her elementary school years. It was a Wed night & in the Fellowship Hall/Gym where tables were setup along the side where many Youth sat, chatted & ate together. I was fairly new w/the church & was enrolled in my 1st Disciple Study Class & while my 2 children were busy w/Youth activities, I sometimes got there early to catch up on reading & jotting down notes. This particular Wed, I sat at one of the said Youth tables where it was quiet. Britni along w/her dear friend Catey Jensen came by & politely let me know this particular table had always been where the 2 of them sat. So, after exchanging introductions, I apologized & moved to the next table. I recalled they felt bad about asking me to move & I assured them I totally understood & appreciated how they gently let me know. The next Wed night, I had prepared a place card that I printed from my computer, "RESERVED for Britni Lawler & Catey Jensen" & I placed it at their table while sitting at the next table. Britni & Catey came in & were touched by this gesture & invited me to join them at their table where we met & visited on many Wed nights thereafter. That was the beginning of a great friendship during those years. I even began collecting stickers of animals & flowers off of Name/Address labels to divide & place in envelopes for each of my new young friends. If it were not for that kind yet bold way we met, I would have missed an opportunity to get to know Britni.
I saw Britni only once more & that seemed to be many years ago too. She was a teenager w/a young man & it was a weekend night at the Trussville Wal-Mart during checkout. She had grown up. She changed a great deal on the outside (except for that infectious smile) from the young girl I remembered but on the inside was that genuinely kind & sweet w/a little spunk on the inside. We spoke briefly & she introduced me to her friend & we parted ways. Just makes one aware of those who cross our paths during life's journey & how precious & short that journey can often be.
May God wrap His loving arms around each of you & offer comfort only He can adequately give to attempt to ease your pain. May you remember many fond memories as you attempt to cope w/this great loss.

Sending our love and sympathy to Britinis girls and her family your daughter was such a beautiful person she spent a lot if time with my daughter Laya when they were younger and she was always such a joy to be around very respectful and a heart as big as a mountain she always knew what to say to make me smile.

I meet Brittany many many years ago thru my daughter Laya she spent alot of time at the house with all the other girls and she was always such a sweet respectful young lady this is such a tragedy as she has touched many hearts and will always hold a special place in mine I know she is singing with Jesus we love and will truly miss you sweet angel.

Britni was one of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She had one of the biggest hearts made of pure gold. She was a great friend to all and loved her girls dearly. You will be fiercely missed Bre. Rest in peace sweet girl.

I taught Britni at Parkway, and remember her as a sweet caring young lady. So, so sorry to hear of her passing...much to soon. Will keep her children and family in my prayers. May God give you the comfort you need in the days ahead. Charlotte Burkhardt
