Carl Harvey Ivey, age 95 of Hoover Alabama passed away August 28, 2015. Mr. Ivey was born in Jarvin, Georgia and attended and graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Mr. Ivey served 6 years in the U.S. Navy in world war II as a Pharmacist’s Mate First Class, serving 2 ½ years at the Naval Hospital in Londonberry, North Ireland. He later retired from Guaranty Savings Bank. Mr. Ivey was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife Jeanette Ivey, 2 sons, Michael Ivey (Michele) of Birmingham, AL and Douglas Ivey (Diane) of Columbus, Georgia, and 5 grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 31, 2015 at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11:00 AM.
