Carol A. Catlin was born July 23, 1960, in Birmingham, Alabama to the proud and loving parents of James and Lizzy Catlin who preceded her in death. .
Carol graduated from Minor High School and continued her education at Miles Community (Historically Black) College, Birmingham, Alabama.
In the early chapters of her life, Carol found a deep and lasting love. She met Glenn McWilliams, with whom she would share a lifetime of devotion and companionship. Their bond was sealed in holy matrimony, a union that flourished over forty-six remarkable years. Together, they built a life rich in memories, enduring love, and unwavering partnership.
She moved to Connecticut in 1985, and pursued a career in the medical field. She was a devoted healthcare professional and dedicated her life to others with compassion. Whether at the bedside or behind the scenes, she brought warmth, dignity, and humanity to every patient interaction. She was more than a caregiver; she was a source of comfort and strength for countless individuals and families during their most vulnerable moments. She retired after 31 years of dedicated patient care.
Above all else, her proudest roles were being a devoted wife and parent to three sons. To them, she was more than a wife and parent; she was a guiding light and a constant source of love and encouragement. She celebrated their victories, stood by them during challenges, and always made sure they knew they were deeply loved.
Carol was a true creative spirit; known for turning every occasion into something unforgettable. With a natural talent for crafts, she poured love and imagination into everything she touched whether designing stunning wedding décor, creating charming details for baby showers, or bringing unique ideas to life in her decorating skills. Her eye for beauty and her dedication to making every event special left a lasting impression on all who were blessed to experience her work.
Carol was selfless and someone who gave from the heart. She had a nurturing spirit that extended to her grandchildren, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She brought sunshine wherever she went. She was the life of the party, the heart of the family, and the friend everyone could count on for a laugh or a kind word. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to warm the hearts of everyone she touched.
Carol was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 21, 2025, peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones and friends. She was preceded in death by; her father, James Catlin Jr, her mother, Lizzie Catlin, brother, Jimmy Catlin, four sisters, Pricilla Norris, Elizabeth (Liz) Edwards, Cornelia (Connie) Norris and Brenda Catlin. She leaves to Cherish her memory, her husband Glenn McWilliams, three sons, Glenn (Rowena) Catlin, Calvin (Na'imah) Catlin, and Damion Catlin. Nine grandchildren, Breanna Catlin, Christian Catlin, Davion Catlin, Cameron Catlin, Chloe Catlin, Melanie Catlin, Noah Catlin, Niah Catlin and Demetri Catlin. One twin brother. Carl Catlin, four sisters Carrie (Willie) Thomas Linda Chapman, Jeanette (Yves) Lominy and Stephanie L. Catlin-Singleton, a host of nieces nephews, other relatives, in-laws and friends.
