Carolyn L. Cox

Carolyn Cox went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6,2022. Carolyn was born to Lewis and Cassie Lee, in Birmingham, Alabama. She was one of five children. Her parents and siblings (Morris, Merle, Aubrey, and Morton) proceeded her in death.

Carolyn was a devoted wife, a caring mother, and beloved grandmother. She worked in the accounting department at US Steel, before starting Cox Paper Company with her husband.

Carolyn was a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School teacher for many years, as well as serving in other roles in the life of the church. Her life was a testimony to her Lord and Savior. She spent time with the Lord in a prayer and read her Bible daily, until she was called unto His presence.

She was loved dearly by many friends and especially her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband Joyce William Cox. She is survived by her daughter Kelley Cox Bearden (Jeremy), and her grandchildren, Caroline Bearden Stuart (Matthew), William Reid Bearden, and Mary Cooper Bearden.

All who knew Carolyn would agree that was a true servant and loved the church and her Savior whole heartedly. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shades Crest Baptist Church building fund are encouraged.
