Carolyn Lee Sandlin Miller, age 76, of Springville passed away on April 25, 2018. She was a devoted wife for 59 years to her loving husband, Verlon Miller. Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Friday, April 27th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Ridout’s with graveside service to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
Carolyn is survived by her three children, Cindy Holloway (Allen); Cary Miller (Amy); and Celena Davis (Jason); her five siblings, Gene Sandlin (Betty); Kathren Krebs; AL Sandlin (Cheryl); Dwight Sandlin (Sandy); and Glenda Brock (late husband Larry); her six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold & Liller Sandlin and her brother, Edward Sandlin.
Carolyn owned and operated Miller Drapery, a custom drapery & window covering business, for over 30 years with her husband, Verlon. She made the most beautiful draperies and custom beddings for retailers and decorators and especially loved making them for her family. While she was a talented seamstress her passion was her faith in Jesus Christ. She taught Sunday School for many years, sang in a gospel trio in her earlier years, and directed church choir. She was a loving mother, a wonderful cook, and provided many amazing Sunday lunches. Carolyn leaves behind a legacy that will live on for generations.
