

Mrs. Carolyn D. Ratliff, age 87 years young, passed away February 17, 2017 after a long illness. Carolyn was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She lived a very active life having worked in the Jefferson County and Talladega School Systems. She was an active member of Irondale United Methodist Church serving in many areas of leadership including singing in the Chancel Choir.
For over thirty years Carolyn was a member of the Wally Byam Caravan Club and traveled extensively over the United States and Canada. She enjoyed a number of hobbies and lived her life in a manner that made the lives of those she met better.
Carolyn is survived by her husband William Ratliff, married 68 years; sons Fred (Debbie) Ratliff and Michael (Brenda) Ratliff; daughter-in-law, Phyllis; seven (7) grandchildren and eleven (11) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Carrie Daly and her oldest son, William Ratliff III.
Service will be conducted by Rev. Mike Spivey and Rev. Mike Ratliff with Ridout’s Trussville Chapel officiating.
Pallbearers: J.W. McDanal, James Butler, Lane Lackey, James Ratliff, Will Ratliff and John Baker. Honorary Pallbearers: Ray Bowen and Jim Thather.
Funeral Services will be held at Irondale United Methodist Church on Wednesday Feb. 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Forest Crest Cemetery.
