Shoemaker, Carrie Ella "Dolly", 85, went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2017. She was born December 13, 1931 in Eutaw, AL. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gordon R. Shoemaker, parents, Robert H. Gandy and Sarah E. Gandy, and sister Katie Housley. She is survived by her three children: Raymond Lee (Libby) Shoemaker, Paul (Gina) Shoemaker, and Anita Gray; three grandchildren: Andi Cole, Rebecca Shoemaker, and Megan Shoemaker; and one great-grandchild, Victoria Cole, as well as her siblings Robert "Buddy" (Faye) Gandy, Barbara "Bobbi" Dutton, and William "Billy" (Katie) Gandy, and nieces and nephews. A very special thank-you to Jerry Gray for his love and care of Dolly during her last 1 1/2 year of life. Carrie was a member of Lakeview Pelham First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at Elmwood Chapel on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 10-11 am. Funeral will be Saturday , January 14, 2017 at 11:00am, at Elmwood Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Michael Miller, immediately followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery.
