BLAKE, CATHERINE S. age 94 of Birmingham, passed away Monday, September 5, 2011. Catherine was a long time member of Center Point United Methodist Church. She was a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army serving in World War II and enjoyed many years as a nurse in the states of Al. Fla, Ga, La, and Washington DC. She later retired from East End Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Earl Blake, and her parents George and Ruth Steed, and a brother, Bobby Steed. She is survived by two loving daughters, Denise Blake of Virginia, and Nancy Spangler (Neal) of Hueytown. Graveside services will be Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:00AM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens with a visitation for Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel
