

Born on August 25, 1935, Kitty was the cherished daughter of Anthony and Kathryn (Katie) Butera. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family and attended John Carroll High School, where she formed friendships and values that would guide her throughout her life.
On June 30, 1954, Kitty married the love of her life, Del Anthony Carra. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership that lasted until Del’s passing in 1991. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and devotion.
Kitty dedicated 35 years of service to Bruno’s (Food World), where she was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. Her colleagues and customers alike appreciated her gentle spirit and welcoming smile.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband Del, her sisters Sara Ranelli, Rose Lee Turner, and Mary Elizabeth (Mae) Cantevespre, and her brothers Andrew, Thomas, Joseph, and Vincent Butera.
Kitty leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her devoted son, James “Jimmy” A. Carra; her treasured granddaughter, Samantha Noland; and her adored great-grandchildren, Julia Kate Noland and Nova June Noland. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly, and her beloved dogs—Clyde, Woodie, and Lucy—who brought her joy and companionship in her later years.
Kitty’s life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel.
