Catherine Freeman White passed away peacefully under the care of South Haven Nursing Home, it’s excellent staff, and Southern Hospice especially Clint. One of Eleven children, she was raised in Norwood and graduated from Phillips High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Val and Eula Freeman; brothers, Val, George, Charles, Sam and Bob; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Morgan and Marion Kirby. She is survived by a brother Bill; sisters, Dorothy Barr and Peggy McLendon. She is also survived by her children Debbie Richardson (Bill), Ben Lord (Carol), and Vallee Rumore (John); grandchildren, Travis Richardson (Stacey) , Robert Ed Richardson, and Millie Johnson (Lee) , Jessica Goedjen (Steven), Matthew Lord, Lauren Rumore, John Paul Rumore, Amellia and Maria Rumore; great grandchildren, Andie Richardson, Copelan Richardson, Will Richardson, Rich Johnson and Gowan Johnson and step-daughter, Nonie Swader. Also many loving nieces and nephews. Catherine was known and loved for her warm personality and quick smile. Throughout her life she loved to help those less fortunate. The celebration of Catherine’s life will be at 11am on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. The service will be held at the graveside.
