Veteran of the United States Navy serving during WW II. Retired from Jim Walter Resources. Survivors include : His devoted wife of 68 years Mary Ellen Easter, 2 daughters : Carolyn Ruth Easter Lamphere (Reid), Cynthia Ellen Easter Rogers. Graduate of Minor High School. In retirement he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren Tiffany Lamphere of Studio City, Ca. Jeremiah Lamphere (Shalomie) , Lindsey Rogers of Birmingham and Grant Rogers of Auburn, Al; great-grandson Judah Lamphere of Minneapolis, Mn. He was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church. His love and encouragement will be dearly missed, but knowing he is with His Lord brings great comfort. A celebration of his life service will be held Tuesday July 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Elmwood cemetery. Rev. D.H. Easter will officiate.
