
Charles W. King, born on March 8, 1946, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 79. A resident of Bessemer, Alabama, Charles was a beloved individual known for his passion for life and dedication to his family and community.
Charles graduated from Banks High School and went on to further his education at The University of Alabama. His commitment to serving his country was evident through his service in the US Army. After his military career, he continued his service to the nation by working for the US Treasury Service.
A devoted family man, Charles loved his family deeply and took particular interest in his grandchildren's activities. His personal interests included fishing, hunting, playing softball, and supporting Alabama sports, all of which he enjoyed immensely.
Charles is preceded in death by his mother, Louise King.
Charles is survived by his wife Sharon Davidson King; his father, Cecil King; his siblings, Eddie (Tricia) and Arrice Faught (Ken); his children: David King (Dana) and Angie Mears (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Emma Kate King, Graham King, Amelia King, Caroline King, Madelyn King, Grant Mears, and Drew Mears; and numerous other cousins and nephews.
Charles's passion for life was infectious, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and dedication to his family and community will be cherished and remembered.
After a private family burial, a celebration of life will be held at Hunter Street Baptist Church in the chapel with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm and service to follow at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
