CALLAHAN, CHERYL DOREEN was born on November 16, 1960. God called her home on Wednesday June 22, 2011. She was a member of the Greater New Antioch Baptist Church and received her Nursing Degree from Lawson State Community College in 1996. She is survived by her mother Lydia Sinclair of Birmingham 2 daughters Candace Thompson (Travis) of Bessemer and Danielle Powell of Birmingham, three grandchildren Destiny, Taylor and Travis Thompson of Bessemer, three sisters Shelia Callahan, Lynette Jones (Rodney) of Birmingham and Atarah Magwood (Alon) of St. George, SC, one brother Lud Yisrael of Birmingham and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. Services will be Saturday July 2, 2011 at Greater New Antioch Baptist at 1:00 pm, with burial to follow at G. W. Carver Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday July 1, 2011 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel from 5:00 till 7:00pm. Pastor E.O. Jackson will be officiating service.
