Clyde Stephen Knowles,Sr. age 92 of Birmingham passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was a member of Berney Points Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Army and U.S. Steel. Mr. Knowles is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Knowles; and daughters, Beth Knowles and Becky Wear. He is survived by his children, Beverly Crawford, Barbara Dixon (Al), Stephen Knowles (Karen), and Bonnie Pate (Jesse); brother, Jack Knowles (Jerry); sister, Laura Keegan (Earl); nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel with visitation thirty minutes prior. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
