Damian Bernard Williams, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 62. Damian was born on January 20, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia to Kathleen and Neil Williams.
Damian graduated from the Alabama School of Fine Arts in 1982, went on to earn his degree from Auburn University in 1988, and completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence at The Birmingham School of Law in 1992.
Damian devoted much of his life to public service and the protection of others. A decorated police officer, he later served as a U.S. Marshal, where he was part of the task force that captured Eric Rudolph — the Olympic Park and abortion clinic bomber — in 2003. His courage and commitment to justice earned him the respect of colleagues and community alike.
Beyond his career in law enforcement, Damian was a gifted musician who mastered many instruments. For many years he served as first-chair trumpet player for the Birmingham Symphony, sharing his talent and passion for music with all who heard him perform.
Damian was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Neil Williams, and his brother, Del Williams. He is survived by his brother, Drake Williams (Dianne); his son, Connor; daughters, Audrey (Luke), Laryn (Chris), Olivia, and Margaret “Maggie” (Garrett); and 4 grandchildren.
Damian will be remembered for his intelligence, talents, and dedication to serving his community.
